Golden, British Columbia features incredible vistas of both the Rocky and Columbia Mountain ranges so it should be no surprise that one set of these jagged peaks is featured prominently in the Golden Ultra event logo.
The Dogtooth range is located just north of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, in the Columbia Mountains. The “molars,” a set of peaks that resembles the jagged chewing teeth on a dog are visible and prominent from most vantage points in Golden, and will be straight ahead of runners as they run along Terminator Ridge, halfway through the 55 km Stage 2 run, “The Tears.” It is this inspiring view that led to the shape of the peaks in the logo.
The colours of the logo were selected to represent the different stages of the 3-day event. Red for “Blood,” yellow for “Sweat,” and blue for “Tears.” Variations of the logo will be used for each stage.
